Description
This DMX decoder allows for 24 Channels of LED lights to be controlled via a DMX control signal. With two DC power inputs, one for channels 1-12 and the other for 13-24, this LED decoder can control 12 channels of LED lights of similar or variating voltage inputs. This decoder accepts either XLR-3 type connections or bare wire connections for the DMX signal input and output. There are a total of eight, 3 channel, common anode outputs with screw-down terminal blocks for easy connection to your LED lights. This decoder is able to accept 5-24VDC at 3A per channel (twenty four channels total) for max load of 360W/5V, 864W/12V, or 1728W/24V. You can set the starting address of the DMX decoder via DIP switches located on the back of the unit. Please note that each DMX decoder requires 24 addresses in the DMX universe being used as well as a 5-24VDC driver large enough to power the lighting load. A built in LED light test mode is available with this DMX decoder. Power is isolated between channels 1-12 and 13-24, therefore two different voltage LEDs can be powered separately if needed. Systems with more than two DMX decoders being used require an XLR3 DMX terminator cable on the last DMX decoder in the series.

Greg Miller asked: Mar 18, 2014 I'm wondering whether all of the channels need to have the same voltage load, or if it's possible to mix LED lights of different voltages on the one controller. Specifically, with the driver hooked to a 12V DC power supply, would it be possible to control several channels of LED ribbon at 12V DC and also control several 6V or 9V DC flicker candle devices? We have a project that incorporates both 12V DC LED ribbon light and 9V DC flicker candles. Thanks. Ecolocity LED Responded: Mar 19, 2014 Greg, thanks for the question. All of the LED lights from the decoder must be the same operating voltage as the transformer powering the unit. You can daisy chain this decoder to a separate decoder to control your 6VDC or 9VDC flicker candles. Although these candles must be PWM dimmable and compatible with 6VDC or 9VDC products. |

We have 3 models that are UL Recognized. Our Flicker Free 5 Channel (LC-SR-DMX5-FF), 12 Channel (LC-SR-DMX12-FF), and 24 Channel (LC-SR-DMX24-FF) are all UL Recognized. |
