Description
This Mean Well 1000W, 24VDC LED Power Supply / Transformer, has a 100 - 240AC input and 24VDC output. For dry locations only. Built in short circuit, overload, over voltage, and overheating protection allows for system shutdown upon any of these circumstances. Forced air cooling by built in DC fan allows for cool operating temperatures. Note: The cooling fan runs noisy and may not be suitable for all applications. Working temperatures are -4°F through 140°F. CN3 port allows for remote control of this power supply. It can be used to connect large amounts of LED Wall Washers, LED Lights, LED Light Ribbons, RGB LED lighting and any other 24VDC Constant Voltage LED Lighting products. UL Recognized and CE approved. Can connect up to 900 watts of 24VDC LED lights. Only install face up with sufficient breathing space.

Ecolocity LED Responded: Apr 10, 2014 Gary, thanks for the question. Our typical rule of thumb is trying to keep your wire lengths from transformer to strip under 50' if possible using 18AWG stranded wire. There isn't an exact figure, voltage drop will start to occur between 50'-100'+. The only way to know exactly is to read the voltage with a multimeter at the end of your wire length. If your voltage is less than 11.5VDC you either need to shorten your wire length or purchase a non-waterproof Mean Well transformer with a voltage adjustment to boost the voltage from the transformer to combat voltage drop in your wire. |
